The Willow Arbour by Elizabeth
This water colour was designed to convey rather than reproduce the atmosphere of a small grove of trees encompassing a wooden dolls house structure which contains models and toys in engaging surroundings. I personally think it looks like a dyslexic chimpanzee’s attempt at art being done with wild brush strokes and different shades of colour and somewhat clumsy attempts at detail with a large brush, but oh well…
I think this sculpture is very inspirational as it shows many different animals beloved (or otherwise) by mankind in a simple yet elegant way in a house-like structure, surrounded by a small arbour of willow trees; trees which symbolise to me that whatever we do or think of nature, it will always encircle us and shroud us from as much stormy weather as it can. I chose to paint this because of the aforementioned reasons but also because I love the imagery it represents to me and is really centred on peace and quiet. Elizabeth.
