Gerard Macdonald and John Parry's application for funding to the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts (NESTA) regarding the use of special software that will be researched by Rodmell and Barcombe schools under the title 'Pupils as Scientists' has been successful and work on this exciting dimension to the project will begin after half term.
18 JANUARY 2006
A superb site visit by Barcombe Primary School who have now started their exploration of reeds and their structure and how they work. This group in the middle of Heart of Reeds made a start by taking detailed photos and video clips and making drawings of the plants in winter.
28 DECEMBER 2005
The Ernest Cook Trust awarded the project £1,000 towards the expenses of experts that will be used on the project. We remain to hear the result of our Nesta application.
8 NOVEMBER, 2005
Two tremendous sessions were held at Wallands Primary and Priory Secondary Schools and plans are now well in hand for further collaboration in February 2006.
Barcombe Primary is gearing up to come on stream in January starting with a talk by John Parry followed by a site visit.
The result of a grant application from the Ernest Cook Trust is due in December.
